LYTT December Intensive Review
In our December Lila Yoga Intensive we delved into the भगवद्गीता (Bhagavad Gita) and how many of its teachings are woven into लीला योग आसन (the Lila Yoga Asana Practice).
Through my lecture, I shared with our LYTT members the teaching foundations of the Lila Yoga Practice: the three chapters and how they relate to one another. I gave imagery, reasoning, and even specifics variations within the chapters. As a collective of LYTTs I would like to invite you to continue our study by discussing the areas of focus from this past intensive and to expound upon them further.
Please use the comment section below for your interpretation of the Gita (i.e. specific sections of interest, general opinions, and anything else we discussed this weekend).
The weekend intensive this December was filled with great discussion of the Gita. I found the many opinions and interpretations of the book interesting. I can see how the many verses in the book can be taken literally or hold specific meaning to someone; however, I feel that it is a beautiful story that should be taken as a great piece of literature. When it is over analyzed, the simplistic meaning behind it gets lost. The story was written by men with ideas, not a god with answers and I don’t take the doctrine to heart. I can appreciate the lessons it has to offer, and I do feel it was a great exercise to discuss all the different meanings everyone found in the text.
